The Sir James and Lady Peiris Cheshire Home provides a supportive family environment where adults with disabilities are respected, encouraged and included.
Established in January 1966 and formally opened on 19 March 1966, the Home has served generations of residents with care, companionship and respect.
Residents are encouraged to take part in the day-to-day running of the Home and to develop their abilities. Admission is based on need without distinction of race, creed or social status.

From a pioneering Home opened in 1966 to a continuing community of residents, staff, volunteers and supporters.
The Sir James and Lady Peiris property became a home for people with disabilities.
Group Captain Lord Leonard Cheshire formally declared the Home open.

Residents of the Sir James and Lady Peiris Cheshire Home enjoyed a memorable Colombo city tour organised with the support of the Classic Car Club, creating an uplifting day filled with friendship, new experiences and community connection.
